To [info]violettandblue for the adorable Westie book! I owe some of you guys cards, and while they probably won't be Xmas cards, I'll be sending random postcards out over the next few weeks and months.

So sleepy...want to go home and I've only been here about an hour. Heading to King of Prussia Thursday night to exchange the ugly shirt and then I have to send back the Tommy Bahama pants for a different size cause these? gave me J-Lo ass and that's not cool especially when I have no ass.

Oh well, at least I have breakfast today.

Christmas isn't over yet...one more party on New Years Day, so I'll hold off on a gift list until then (and until the gift cards are spent on whatever I don't get). But Christmas was good. Made me hate the stepmonster more, but what else is new?

Today was a mess driving to work. Doylestown is the land that snow plows forgot. So getting out of town was hairy at best and then some douchebag decides to take his horse trailer out for a ride (on a one lane each way, very hilly country road covered with snow). So yeah, we were doing 25 or 30 when 55 is the norm. Grrrrr. At least I have an easy schedule this week...

Maybe hitting King of Prussia Thursday and Ocean's Twelve Friday. [info]meadowsoprano, I'll give you a buzz when I figure out when I'm free next week.

If I don't get to post over the next few days, have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS or a HAPPY NON-DENOMINATIONAL HOLIDAY everyone. Eat well and be merry. But anyways, much love to all <33333

I got Craig Manning for Christmas!

Well not actually really...cause he's not in Season 1 but regardless, I now have Season 1 of Degrassi on DVD! The bf got me that and two of those cheesy "as seen on tv" 90's compilations that we've been joking about forever. His parents got me a Tommy Bahama makeup bag and a gift certficate good at any Tommy Bahama store. As a result, I owe them big time. So I got them a Dean and Deluca coffee sampler and then I have to send out John's DVD's tomorrow. The gift certificate will definitely be nice when I go to Arizona cause they have two HUGE Tommy stores out there and between that and the Burberry outlet that [info]kitsune714 told me about in Vacaville, I should be coming home from Spring Break with some nice stuff.

Luckily this is my last day of work until Monday and I get to spend all next week here in the business office. Deb is always fun to work with and I don't have to be here until 8:30 which is a major plus. Remind me to write about the major scheduling coup I pulled because this one woman refuses to stop harassing me about covering her shifts.

Errands galore tomorrow: cleaners, post office, bakery, library, my mom's school, etc. NJ on Friday and then Christmas as always in little old D-Town. WOOT.

Only 45 minutes left...or $7.50 if I think about it in those terms. That's a Chipotle dinner right there kids.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming

My mantra of the morning:

"Only (fill in the time left) until lunch."

I finished my paperwork really quickly and now I have nothing to do except read old TWoP West Wing recaps. I mean it's entertaining, but I have to burn all but an hour (yay for Wawa lunches) until I go home at 3:30.

I really could use another nap. I slept for 2 hours yesterday afternoon and about 5.5 hours last night until I was awoken by what I swear was a mouse in the crawlspace next to my room in my dad's house. The little scurrying noises on the wooden floor weren't nothing. Rather than check to see what the cause of the noise was (because I'm a chicken and the first time I saw a mouse in my old garage, I jumped about 5 feet up in the air. So I've been up since about 5:30 or so and I'm none too happy about it.

At least there's TAR tonight cause all my other reality shows have wound down (Apprentice) or in the process of doing so (RW/RR Challenge). I hope Victoria shoots Jonathan with that cannon. That would make my night let alone my week.

I still can't believe that Christmas is only four days away. And that the annual New Jersey trek is only three days away. It's a shortened trek this year at least because dinner is going to be at my Grandpa's house this year. See on Christmas Eve, we go to my Grandpa's house for lunch and then drive to whichever relative's house is hosting dinner...all in Bergen County, New Jersey. So yeah. Should be interesting, especially because Chuck isn't going to be home this year and I always get doted on a little more when he's not around. Although I'd trade that in to have him here. He's basically my big brother and I miss him...especially at Christmas. At least I get to go visit him in Phoenix in March.

Okay, back to my recaps. I'm already up to "20 Hours In LA". WOOT.

Shopping and a survey

My one mall excursion of Christmas 2004 is complete and all objectives were achieved. Of course, I did nearly have a heartattack thanks to dad's request. His birthday is 2 weeks after Christmas so he often asks for one expensive thing to cover both. Last year was reasonable (a 90 dollar tie)...this year, not so much.

He wanted a Burberry golf vest. Reasonable enough I thought. He told me 110, 120 bucks tops. I get to Nordstrom in Pentagon City earlier and the tag says 175...::fainting spell 1:: They only have a small and medium ::fainting spell 2:: they have to order it from another store and only one on the East Coast has an XL ::fainting spell 3:: I have to pay for it and shipping ::fainting spell 4::

Well, I put it on the credit card Dad gets the bill for and immediately called him and said there was no way I could afford this on my own. No way in hell. So I have to pay for 120 and he pays for the remainder. Fair enough. But still, that's a bit much for a college kid on a limited budget. It's hard enough doing my shopping AND my mom's this year. She's so busy working to pay the bills that she has zero time to shop or really even decorate much. I always get bummed out thinking about that because she loves Christmas SO much.

But anyways. So I got my dad's vest...I got soaps for my mom and a bathrobe for my aunt. Just a few more little things for people and I'm done. And now I have to get something for John's parents cause they got me something. They are too sweet. His mom? Cutest person ever. Every time I talk to her through email or on the phone, she's always begging me to come visit again. Hehehe.

And I FINALLY got myself a Scotland flag. About damn time.

And finally the survey everyone's doing: THREES )

Shopping is ever closer to being done.

Internet shopping is the greatest invention ever. And Amazon is the greatest internet shopping site ever.

My mom? Done except for stocking stuffers.

John? Done except for little things (probably burned cds).

My aunt? Half finished.

My grandpa? Done. (I got tickets for him to come to a Georgetown basketball game with me in February.)

[info]gweggah's present arrived, so that's one less shipment to worry about.

Anyways, starting paper #2 tonight. It's going to be about public diplomacy plans for healthcare and combatting anti-Americanism in Russia...at least I think. Georgetown vs. Penn State basketball tonight. We *should* actually win this one...stress the *should*. Only four classes left in the semester...about fucking time.

And I GOT A BJD MOOD THEME from [info]pinkdiamonds31 that is tres fab. I can't wait to get it uploaded.

That'll happen...

I bought myself my Christmas present today. Isn't that always the case. I barely buy anything for anyone else and then buy myself something.

Well, I did just get something for John (a "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" poster) and for my mom (a Coldwater Creek gift card). Hopefully I'll have time Thursday or Friday to hit up Pentagon City for my dad's Christmas/Birthday present (a Burberry windcheater).

But I got myself a sexy 27x40 "About A Boy" poster. Between that and my two BJD/TEOR posters, my room is gonna be rocking next semester. Woooooot.

Awwdebuh yay!

I granted my first LJ wishlist wish. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

[info]gweggah definitely deserves it. Without him, the Wooteans would cease to exist.

Everyone go grant a wish...and if you feel like it, you could grant one of mine too ;o) (demented winky)

Update/Wishlist/Etc.

1. Thanksgiving was good. Quiet. Did very little but am happy with that. Read a couple of books (including reading BJD over...good read as always). Watched a lot of movies (including Elf, Saved! and Mean Girls).

2. As I think this is a cool thing...

The Wishlist Meme
Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just ... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

3. My wishlist )
