I just bought myself the user pic extension and I'm slapping myself for not getting it earlier.

45 pics and counting. And I love them all.

Computer help!

For those of you who are or know computer experts, I desprately need your help. I'm having problems with ActiveX. My Norton Internet Security won't open because my security settings won't allow the ActiveX control. When I adjusted my security settings...NOTHING. I uninstalled/reinstalled NIS...NOTHING. I upgraded IE...NOTHING.

Does anyone know enough about Active X to help me? I am now running without NIS (since I couldn't get it to open back up after reinstalling) so I've got no antivirus or firewall at the moment. I don't have SP2 because it crashed my comp when I installed it. Do I have to go and repair Windows or what?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

The Mya Mya/Numa Numa kid

So, it turns out that THIS (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/numa.php) kid, is from the Philly area.

http://www.nbc10.com/news/4208743/detail.html

And now there's a video of a whole classroom full of kids imitating him (http://www.big-boys.com/articles/myamya.html).

As Albino Blacksheep suggests, the variable to becoming an internet celebrity like this guy and the "Star Wars Kid" has clearly got to be weight.

Oh well. It's still really fucking funny though.

I reinstalled Windows...again. Hopefully this time it will work. I'm currently running Norton but I'm seriously considering buying the new Norton package that includes a firewall and spam/popup filters. I'm still wary of SP2 and a lot more friendly towards Norton so maybe this will do the trick.

I still think it was a virus though. And one implanted by Democrats. You never have and never will bring me down.

Seriously, I'm just joking, but I wouldn't put anything past anyone in an election. Nevertheless, I commend Kerry for being gracious in defeat and commend Dubya for being just as gracious in his victory. Arrogance and protests are the last thing our country needs right now.

Listen, if you're so serious, move to Canada, I don't care. But do you people really think we're going to hell just because 3 million more people disagreed with you? It's called democracy bitches, get used to it. Not everybody wins all of the time. Things are going to be different in this term, and I think a lot of Democrats will be surprised. America is only going up and if you're unwilling to work towards that, you should 1. not have any reason to complain and 2. should not share in the rewards.

So either shut up and compromise or get the fuck out of my country. Hey dissention, isn't Hell nice this time of year?

It's only taken SEVEN years!

Thanks to [info]gweggah for pointing me in the right direction for now I have a new component on my journal! Stupid question: how do I get the top bar back on my journal if possible? Sorry for my idiocy.

I still have to fix the colors but it looks pretty already!

Windows repaired itself instead of fully reinstalling. Therefore all of my files were preserved (despite my desperate backing up earlier tonight). I'm still having some screensaver issues that hopefully Dell can fix in the AM. But at the very least, my internet and my computer overall are faster than they've been in days, so I'm happy enough with that.

EDIT: Dell responded by stating the fucking obvious. They told me to reinstall Windows. Parthasarathi to be exact told me to do that. Well suckas, I knew to do that hours ago. Maybe I should be working for Dell Tech Support in Calcutta too.

Now I know it's definitely a screensaver issue. Now whenever I restore my computer from a screensaver, my taskbar disappears and I have to restart. I've posted messages on the Microsoft boards and emailed Dell for help. I'm getting really frustrated here.

But in other news, my package containing the greatest game EVER (Pass The Pigs) is here! YAY!

Computer question

Cause I know some of you can help me. Basically, my computer is working but my internet is sometimes slow/non-functioning and now my computer gets all screwy whenever my screensaver comes on. I've run Spybot and am currently running Adaware. Any other suggestions?

EDIT: I think uninstalling Yahoo toolbar helped but I'm still looking for suggestions to alleviate system slowdowns.

My computer crashed this morning.

It's fixed, but it hasn't been fun.

Microsoft can suck on it. Hard. As my icon says, you? are a jackass. Basically, I tried to install Service Pack 2. SP2 had conflicts with existing programs on my computer and wouldn't install all the way. When I went to restart after it said it was done, my desktop refused to fully load. I? panicked, seeing that I hadn't backed up in awhile and my backup disks are 150 miles away from home where my mother would never find them.

I go to UIS to get help. They tell me that I can't even talk to someone until tomorrow after noon. I? have 2 papers to write this weekend so that isn't really an option. After begging, they told me where some UIS employees were helping kids in Darnall. I go to them and at first they were ambivalent because they usually only resolve network issues. But then Elizabeth (bless her soul) decided to take a look. She basically got into my system, uninstalled the components of SP2 that had worked and restored my computer to its former glory. I'm writing UIS a letter praising her graces.

Classes haven't been bad. But I've been gradually getting a headache all day and I haven't eaten so between that and my computer, I haven't felt well during class all day. I don't even know if I'm going to bother trying to reinstall SP2 seeing as how I have antivirus and firewall protection and a pop-up blocker. I'm very careful with my online activities so I'm going to wait awhile (after I spend a long time tonight backing things up) before reconsidering installation.

Hopefully tonight will be better: Students For Bush meeting, The Apprentice 2 premiere and a new episode of The Graham Norton Effect <333

Much love and best wishes to the Triple M summit now convening in West Deptfort, New Jersey. I want phone calls and pictures from you girls!!!!!
