I love you. I have loved you since you were a freshman at Tennessee. That's a long ass relationship man. I didn't think I could love you more but I do.
Peyton Manning, will you marry me?
Love,
Ali
(P.S. I know your little brother plays for my team but I always liked you more.)

And I must say that I am NOT one of his bandwagoners. I've been on the Mick train for almost 15 years now so eat it.
I'm at work and I jumped about two feet in the air when one of the registration girls told me he won. I instantly ran to the nearest tv to see. I'm so lame.
But MICK WON! (and Tiger didn't) YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO TAR HEELS!
2005 National Champions
Although I never became an official Tar Heel (I was gonna go to UNC if I didn't get into Georgetown), I have loved them nevertheless. Congrats to Coach Roy for his first championship and to an amazing team for a job well done.

Let's see shall we?
I have a bad cold and likely a fever. My glasses decided to snap completely in half when I woke up. It's Sunday so there are NO buses to Rosslyn. I couldn't get the LJ Phonepost to work earlier. And oh yeah, it's the fucking Super Bowl and the Eagles are in it.
Yeah, today SUCKS MAJOR AMOUNTS OF ASS.
Sick as a dog I had to walk over a mile across Key Bridge to the subway station, take the subway out to Ballston Mall where there was a long line of people waiting for glasses. Bad news yet again, LensCrafters no longer carries MODO frames and my practically brand new lenses are an odd size so they can't put them into a different frame.
So I'm stuck getting 100% entirely new glasses. The lenses are smaller top to bottom but are slightly wider than before. The only good thing that came out of it was that since my lenses were less than 6 months old and because the lady at LensCrafters took pity on me (cause I don't know how I even got there not being able to see a fucking thing) she gave me BOTH the frames AND the lenses for 50% off. That meant that with the total price, I basically paid for the frames and got the lenses completely FREE. And my lenses are not cheap between getting Featherwates and having an increasingly bad prescription.
I bought some cold medicine and a new thermometer while I was waiting and now Joe and I are trying to figure out our dinner situation because I'm not up to walking down to Dominos to get our free carryout pizzas. I'm spending the Super Bowl sick, in bed, and watching it with a fucking Eagles fan. Could this day get any worse?
Only if the Eagles win I guess.
Here's hoping that Mom, Dad, Oogie,

Don't worry, I still love you to bits.
3. We've got a Wawa field trip planned for the Thursday or Friday before the Super Bowl so any of you Philly kids who "gotta hava wawa" are more than invited to join us.
4. My History of Rock class got moved from 4th floor Walsh to McNeir so WOOT for that! No more sprinting!
5. T.O. won't be cleared to play in the Super Bowl so WOOT for another thing going against the Eagles. GO PATS!!!11one!!1!111!
5. I have 200 pages of reading left to do tonight as well as my History of Rock listening assignment and before either of those can commence, I have to take a shower and make some food so -_-

My personal faves, the Fab Four (1993-1996) appears higher up on the list but I gotta give equal love to number one. Even though Denny loves ugly Denver hookers, John Smoltz's arm can't last more than three consecutive innings and Tom Glavine is dead to me now, it was a glorious time to be a fan of Atlanta pitchers as I was.
1. 1998 Atlanta Braves
Greg Maddux (18-9, 2.22), Tom Glavine (20-6, 2.47), Denny Neagle (16-11, 3.55), Kevin Millwood (17-8, 4.08), John Smoltz (17-3, 2.90)
You could easily argue that the 1996 or 1997 rotation was better, but the difference would be marginal. So let's look at 1998. The Braves' starting five combined for an ERA of 2.97 -- a stunning 1.27 lower than the NL average. They were stingy with hits, walks and homers. Maddux and Glavine had two of the top 10 pitching seasons in the history of the Braves franchise. Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz finished 1-3-6 in ERA. Glavine, the NL's only 20-game winner, captured the NL Cy Young Award, and Maddux and Smoltz tied for fourth in the voting. All five starters were among the top 10 in wins.
Good weekend. Dad came down. Busy, but good.
FRIDAY: Dad arrived. Lunch at Union Station. Wine dealing at Schneiders. Dinner with John at Mendocino Grill. Drove around DC and Virginia a little. Crashed in the hotel.
SATURDAY: Lunch with Dad's college roommate at Mark's Duck House in Falls Church, went to the GTown/Lehigh football game, got a new jacket, went shopping at Tyson's Corner, was Dad's escort to his 25th medical school reunion dinner at the Ritz-Carlton.
TODAY: Drove around with Dad, got dropped off here, watched the Steelers pound the Eagles, watched the first (good) quarter of the Giants game, read a bunch, remodeled LJ.
Stupidest thing ever: Every time the Lehigh football team scores, the cheerleaders do as many pushups as Lehigh has points. LAME.
Must do more reading now that I've procrastinated enough to play with LJ. Peace out.

Today was decent as well. Tailgate was definitely overpriced if you didn't drink any beer, but oh well. The Hoyas slammed the VMI Keydets 21-0. HOYA SAXA!
Just got back from Chipotle and FYE. I found the "Leap of Faith" soundtrack for only four bucks! WOOT!!!!! You do not know how happy getting that and the "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" soundtrack in the same week makes me. Yay for two of my favorite movies.
I'm seriously crashing early tonight. But watching lots of tv before hand. One of my fave South Parks (the one where Cartman takes weight gain pills and Mr. Garrison wants to kill Kathie Lee) is on tonight.
I'm boring. So sue me.

On top of that, I'm covering for someone today whose job I barely know. I watched her for maybe an hour one day last week and that's it. I have no clue what I'm doing so I'm basically not doing much of anything. I left the girl a note saying - "I don't want to screw up - so I'm not doing it. Don't be mad. Teach me what to do next week" or something along those lines. Hopefully it'll all be cool...I don't think Jody will be mad at me.
I realize that this journal has mainly become a place for my bitching lately and I apologize for that. I hope to rectify this in the future. I have off tomorrow (yay!) and have to send Patrick out on the Puppy Bus to get groomed. (Yes, there is actually a "bus" - van - that picks dogs up at their homes and takes them to the groomers. For some reason I think this is so cute.)
Interesting debate going on in my fantasy baseball league over which city (Buffalo, Cleveland or Philadelphia) is the most tortured when it comes to sports. Obviously with 2 people in the league from Philly and 2 people from Cleveland, we're all biased. Of course my vote went to the City of Brotherly (or as we joke, Battery) Love. I think two words pretty much sum up emotions around here right now: Smarty Jones. It's a fun debate nonetheless...despite the two votes for West Palm Beach, FL from 2 other members. Tsk tsk.
Random comment: this is the first place in this hospital in which I've gotten to sit right next to the window...I like it.
Only 18 days until OBX...and only 47 (approx.) until Florida...I can't wait.
God I missed it. Watched Phillies/Pirates earlier and now I have the Giants/Astros game on. I am no longer a fan of specific teams but more a fan of specific players, the National League and the sport itself.
Actually, a lot of my favorite players are in this game...Jeff Kent, Kirk Reuter, Robb Nen. But yeah. Sometime in the future maybe I'll attempt to put my fandom into words because I have neither the time or the brain power to do so at the moment.
I pre-registered the other day for classes. Here's what I've got so far:
ENGL 250 - American Expatriate Writers (Fitzgerald <33333)
GOVT 415 - Contemporary US Foreign Policy
INAF 428 - Public Diplomacy
SPAN 161-02 - Oral Review: Contemporary Hispanic Culture (this is only if I don't pass my proficiency exam on April 22nd, otherwise, I'm dropping it)
THEO 046 - Religion In America

WOMEN:
Final Four: UConn, Tennessee, Georgia and Kansas State
Final Game: UConn vs. Tennessee
Winner: Tennessee
Pat Summit deserves it. UConn is off this year. I also have Tennessee playing Vandy to get into the Final Four. Both games should be great.
MEN:
Final Four: Duke, Stanford, Kentucky, Pittsburgh
Final Game: Stanford vs. Pittsburgh
Winner: Stanford
I think they've finally got it together, barring that they can beat UConn in their regional final. If they can do that, they're set. I wouldn't be surprised if Pitt pulled through though. They're definitely good, but it depends on whether or not Julius Page waits until there's four minutes left in the game to start scoring.

Currently watching George Michael's Sports Machine. He's talking about my beloved dorky white guy - Brendan Gaughan.
Brendan was a reserve guard on the Georgetown basketball team in the mid 1990's alongside Allen Iverson. He has a degree from GTown in finance. And used it to become? A NASCAR Truck series star. 2002 Craftsman Rookie of The Year, 2003 Series Runner-up. And now? HE'S RACING IN THE DAYTONA 500! I <3 MY DORKY WHITE GUY. Everyone root for #77 Kodak Dodge next Sunday!

The past two days have been hellishly long. In chronological order:
Yesterday - Had to wait forever to get a shower, recorded 20 minutes worth of dialogues for my Spanish class, lunch, IR (snore), met with my advisor for my major, studied for econ exam, took econ exam, attempted reading, dinner, hella long College Bowl meeting, schlep across campus to get my IR notes back, read more, died.
Today - Euro IR (also snore), lunch, no time to sit, meeting/sophomore review/major declaration with Dean Handley, went up to the 6th floor of ICC to read, had to make phone calls, went to 4th floor of the library to read, more phone calls, History of Japan II, run to Leo's for dinner, basketball game against Nova (PUKE), fought with people in crowd/on bus home, hella long shower, about to die.
Yeah, that about sums it up. I want to do a lot of things tonight but I'm too tired.
Explaining my entry title, well, here it goes: I was born and raised a Georgetown basketball fan. Since I was born, Georgetown has had a fervent rivalry with a certain school along the Blue Route by the name of VillaFUCKINGnova. I went to elementary school with Alex Lyons. My dad went to Georgetown, hers went to Nova. This remained a moot subject between us until 5th grade. We got into a fistfight over it. I won. Why? Because everyone knows that Hoyas are stonewalls...but that's another story all together.
Anyways, when college selection time rolled around, I was surprised to find out, she had chosen to go to Miami. Until now...now I hear she's transferred to Nova as we all expected. My dad figures her dad paid her way in. But yeah. Things are now right with the world. Except we played them tonight. And lost. I have seen 3 GTown/Nova games in my life and we've lost ALL OF THEM. WHAT THE FUCK. I scanned the crowd several times to see if she'd show her face. Lucky she didn't.
But there were plenty of fuckers on our side that I didn't have to worry about her. First of all, Mike Glick, you're a fucker and if I hadn't had a migraine during the game, I would've ripped both your arms and your balls off. Why? Because you're a massive tool. And drunk girls on the bus on the way home? I also am paying $160,000 for my Georgetown education, I can tell you to shut the fuck up if I want to. I've been a GTown fan and attending games since birth. Go like that guy in the front of the bus said and stick a dick in your mouth to shut your stupid ass up.
::end rant here::
Tomorrow will be better. Only one class. Done at noon. Going marketing at Safeway. Cooking dinner for my favoritest boys tomorrow (John - the bf, Jon, and Steve). If any of you guys were around, I'd cook for you too. Dinner out and HOYAS vs. Miami on Saturday. Hoya fucking saxa kids.
